Two modes. Zero fluff.

The Security+ written portion is multiple choice, so the preparation should be too: drill questions with instant explanations until the concepts stick, then sit a strict, timed replica of the exam format.

f.01 · learn

Explanations, not answer keys.

Every question ships a full rationale: why the right answer is right and why each distractor is wrong, written to teach the concept behind the question. Wrong answers become the fastest way to learn.

per-answer why · every distractor explained · instant feedback
f.02 · exam

A strict mock at the real cut score.

90 questions in 90 minutes, domain-weighted to the official SY0-701 blueprint, no feedback until you submit. Scored the way CompTIA scores it: a scaled score on the 100-900 band with the real 750 cut, not a raw percentage. Flag questions, jump around, get a per-domain report.

90 minutes · 90 questions · scored 100-900, pass at 750
f.03 · progress

A readiness score that means something.

Your finished runs are saved to your account and rolled into a readiness score weighing recent performance, consistency, trend, and volume, the same formula our hands-on certification labs use.

attempt history · per-domain breakdown · readiness

Mapped to the official SY0-701 blueprint.

Domain weights mirror the published Security+ exam objectives, and mock exams draw questions in those proportions, so your practice pressure lands exactly where the exam puts it.

What is the Security+ exam format?

The real SY0-701 is a 90-minute exam with up to 90 questions: multiple choice plus a handful of performance-based questions (PBQs), taken at a testing center or online-proctored. It is scored on a 100-900 scale with a passing score of 750, and our mock reports the same scaled score against the same 750 cut. The exam voucher costs about $404 and the certification is valid for three years with continuing education.

Is this affiliated with CompTIA?

No. prepium.sh is an independent practice environment and this is unofficial practice material, not affiliated with or endorsed by CompTIA. The exam itself is purchased from CompTIA separately. Questions are exam-style practice for the SY0-701 objectives, and every one carries an explanation written by us to teach the underlying concept.

Does it cover the performance-based questions (PBQs)?

Yes. Alongside the question bank there are 10 PBQ-style interactive labs built by us in the style of the real exam's simulations: drag-and-drop attack matching, firewall rulebase configuration, incident response and order-of-volatility sequencing, log analysis, network device placement, and secure wireless configuration. Each is graded item by item with partial credit, the way the real PBQs are scored, and every item carries an explanation. One lab is free to try before you unlock.

How long should I study for Security+?

With some IT background, 4-8 weeks is typical. If you are coming in fresh, budget 2-3 months and lean on learn mode: the explanations are written to teach the concept, not just mark your answer. When your mock scores sit comfortably above 750, you are ready for the real thing.

Why Security+ first?

Security+ is the most widely held entry security certification and a baseline requirement for many security and IT roles, including U.S. DoD 8570/8140 positions. It has no prerequisites. From there, hands-on paths open up: Linux administration with RHCSA, firewall administration with NSE4, or cloud native security with KCSA and CKS.

Security+ passed? Keep going.

Security+ is the foundation. The next steps are hands-on: real firewalls, real Linux systems, real Kubernetes clusters, all practiced the same way on prepium.sh.

Four hundred eighty-three questions. Every one explained.

Create a free account and try the sample, then unlock the bank and drill it in learn mode, then sit the 90-question mock at the real cut score. Your scores, per-domain breakdown, and readiness live on your account.
